Tips for saving server space & keeping things running
Have segments of students access their notebooks sequentially, rather than having all students access them at once. This reduces load on your school wifi.
Make sure students avoid opening multiple notebooks in multiple tabs. Our mantra: "one notebook open at a time."
If students are already in their notebook and get a message saying "kernel died," have them refresh the page
Notebook isn't loading? Even with the work we've been doing to boost our server capacities, the notebooks may take several minutes (as long as 5 min) to load for students (especially their first time using them). After clicking into a notebook and starting their server, if students see an empty or blue loading bar, everything is ok - they may just need to wait several minutes. If the bar turns red, students should refresh the page and return.
